Identification of a new plasmid-encoded sec-dependent bacteriocin produced by Listeria innocua 743

Article Abstract:

Research has been conducted on the Listeria innocua 743, a food-born pathogen responsible for the spontaneous abortions. The characterization of the bacteriocin-like activity produced by this bacterium has been carried out, and the results indicate that this isolate produces two different inhibitors.

gly gene cloning and expression and purification of glycinecin A, a bacteriocin produced by Xanthomonas campestris pv. glycines 8ra

Article Abstract:

Research has been conducted on the glycinecin A, a bacteriocin produced by Xanthomonas campestris pv. glycines. The cloning and expressing of the genes encoding this glycinecin has been carried out in Escherichia coli and the results are presented.

Bactericidal activity of glycinecin A, a bacteriocin derived from Xanthomonas campestris pv. glycines, on phytopathogenic Xanthomonas campestris pv. vesicatoria cells

Article Abstract:

The mode of action of glycinecin A on Zanthomonas campestris pv. vesicatoria cells, using purified chimeric glycinecin A, was determined. The results suggest that the bactericidal mechanism of action of glycinecin A is correlated with the permeability of membranes to hydroxyl and potassium ions, leading to the lethal activity of the bacteriocin on the target bacteria.
