Autoinducer 2 affects biofilm formation by Bacillus cereus

Article Abstract:

Cell-free supernatants from growing Bacillus cereus strain ATCC 10987 induced luminescence in a Photorhabdus luminescens (delta)luxS mutant, indicating the production of functional auto inducer 2(AI-2). It was observed that AI-2 had an inhibitory effect on biofilm formation by B. cereus and promoted release of the cells from a performed biofilm.

Biofilm formation by and antifungal susceptibility of Candida isolates from urine

Article Abstract:

Biofilm formation (BF) in urine Candida isolates and the natural history of candiduria, which causing urinary tract infection, are studied. The results have shown that BF is a stable characteristic of Candida strains that varies greatly among clinical strains and is dependent on the growth medium.

Swarming behavior of and hemolysin BL secretion by bacillus cereus

Article Abstract:

The motility behavior of and the secretion of hymolysin BL (HBL) is assessed by Bacillus cereus strains isolated from different sources. It is found that swarming differentiation by Bacillus cereus contributes to the virulence potential of this opportunistic human pathogen.
