Article Abstract:
A demonstration that Drosophila larval neuroblasts-stem cell-like precursors of the adult brain-regulate proliferation by segregating the growth inhibitor Brat and the transcription factor Prospero into only one daughter cell is presented. The findings identified a molecular mechanism that might control self-renewal and prevent tumor formation in other stem cells as well.

Article Abstract:
A mouse model of prostate cancer that the tumor cells initiate and promote expansion of stormal fibroblasts that lack the tumor-suppressor protein p53 through a paracrine mechanism is presented. The result suggest in selection of highly proliferative fibroblasts associated with the carcinoma that further promote tumor progression.

Article Abstract:
The relationship between senescent cells, tumor suppression and organismal aging is studied. The findings indicate that the senescent cells may acquire phenotypic changes, which may be responsible for aging and certain age-related diseases like late-life cancer.
