Article Abstract:
A Numb- and Neutralized-independent mechanism that acts as redundantly in cell-fate specification is described showing that trafficking of the Notch ligand Delta is different in the two daughter cells. The results suggest that cells can regulate signaling pathways and influence their development fate by inhibiting the formation of individual endocytic compartments.

Article Abstract:
Heteotrimeric G proteins are well known for their function in signal transduction downstraem of seven transmembrane receptors. Genetic analysis in C. elegans and in Drosophila has revealed an essential function of heterotrimeric G proteins in positioning the mitotic spindle and attaching microtubules to the cell cortex.

Article Abstract:
Results suggest that asymmetric cell divisions in neuroblasts and sensory organ precursor cells of Drosophila nervous system are mediated by heterotrimeric G proteins. Data show that the G protein subunit Galphai is involved in the spindle orientation and asymmetric distribution of cell division determinants.
