Association of germ-line polymorphisms in the feline p53 gene with genetic predisposition to vaccine-associated feline sarcoma

Article Abstract:

The investigation of association of polymorphisms in the genomic sequence of the feline p53 gene with a predisposition to vaccine-associated feline sarcoma is presented. Results reveal that identified genetic markers could be helpful in predicting disease risk in each individual animal.

On the estimation of Genome-wide heterozygosity using molecular markers

Article Abstract:

Genome-wide heterozygosity is poorly estimated not only by allozymes but also by microsatellite loci and single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs). Thus, associations between fitness and heterozygosity should be established firmly on causative factors and not on simple correlations.
