Article Abstract:
Arabidopsis STERILE APETALA (SAP) (ital) is a gene that regulates ovule and flower development and inflorescence. This multifunctional gene has been studied and it is proposed that SAP (ital) belongs to a new class of transcription regulators needed for numerous processes in Arabidopsis flower development. A recessive mutation in SAP (ital) brings major irregularities flower and ovule development and in inflorescence. In sap (ital) flowers, petals are short and narrow or missing, sepals are carpelloid, and anthers degenerated.

Article Abstract:
Research has been conducted on ceramide kinase (CERK) mutant. Results have demonstrated that Arabidopsis CERK mutant accumulates CERK substrates and shows disease symptoms during pathogen attack and apoptotic-like cell death.
