A U.K. lawn turns 150

Article Abstract:

The Park Grass experiment, which was founded in 1856 by John Bennet Lawes, has completed 150 successful years and it has become the world's longest-running ecological experiment. The utility of Park Grass is going strong even after 150 years and the British Ecology Society is planning setting up some long-term experiments of their own through a new foundation, the Ecological Continuity Trust.

The sniffling sheep

Article Abstract:

The role of bacterial biofilms in chronic sinusitis was investigated by developing a sheep model to enable better treatments. Sheep were used for this investigation since they have a similar anatomy to humans and also suffer a similar disease spectrum.
