Application of the shsp gene, encoding a small heat shock protein, as a food-grade selection marker for lactic acid bacteria

Article Abstract:

The authors desribe the study of shsp gene which serves as a food-grade marker in Streptococcus thermophilus and Lactococcus lactis. They report the construction of S. thermophilus plasmid which carries shsp gene, and the transformation of this plasmid into different S. thermophilus strains via the use of shsp as a selection marker.

Mycotoxigenic Fusarium and deoxynivalenol production repress chitinase gene expression in the biocontrol agent Trichoderma atroviride P1

Article Abstract:

Research has been conducted on toxin deoxynivalenol. The authors have investigated the role of deoxynivalenol mycotoxin in ecological interactions between pathogenic Fusarium and Trichoderma atroviride strain P1, and they have concluded that deoxynivalenol is the principal repressor above other pathogen factors.

Determination of the domain of the Lactobacillus delbrueckii subsp. bulgaricus cell surface proteinase PrtB involved in attachment to the cell wall after heterologous expression of the prtB gene in Lactococcus lactis

Article Abstract:

Research has been conducted on cell surface proteinase PrtB of Lactobacillus delbrueckii subsp. bulgaricus. Results demonstrate that the utmost carboxy end of PrtB is involved in the attachment to bacterial cell walls.
