Article Abstract:
Seventeen Salmonella enterica serovar Hadar isolates recovered from bison are found to possess a range of virulence genes and resistance to tetracycline, gentamicin, sulfamethoxazole, and streptomycin simultaneously. Pulsed-field gel electrophoresis found that all isolates are closely related, indicating the possibility of cross-contamination during processing.

Article Abstract:
The biofilm's role at the interface between air and liquid (pellicle) in the susceptibility of Salmonella enterica serovar Typhimurin cells to stress condition is investigated. The results show that cells in the pellicle and stationary-phase planktonic cells had similar tolerance to stress conditions such as low pH, but were more resistant to chlorine.
