Article Abstract:
The syr gene, regulator of syringomycin synthesis by Pseudomonas syringae pv. syringae, was analyzed using sequence analysis of the interval between the syrB and syrD genes of P. syringae. Results reveal that although regulatory mechanism responsible for the expression of syringomycin production by P. syringae is unknown, environmental factors strongly influence it. Furthermore, the syrP gene does not appear to directly affect signal transduction produced by plant signal molecules.

Article Abstract:
Several of the genes identified were selectively mutated in an attempt to determine their effects on growth and/or attachment in the produce environment in an attempt to characterize Listeria monocytogenes growth and attachment to cabbage. Several reverse transcriptase PCR (RT-PCR) fragments were related to motility and cell division, including fragments of operons encoding flagellar structural and assembly proteins.

Article Abstract:
A tripatriate resiatnce-nodulation-cell division (RND) transporter system, called the PseABC efflux system, was identified at the left border of the syr-syp genomic island of Pseudomonas syringae pv. syringae strain B301D. The resultant mutant strain showed a larger reduction in syringopeptin secretion than in syringomycin secretion compared to parental strain B301D.
