Enantiomeric degradation of 2-(4-sulfophenyl)butyrate via 4-sulfocatechol in Delftia acidovorans SPB1

Article Abstract:

Research has been conducted on the degradative bacterium Delftia acidovorans SPB1. Experiments have demonstrated that this bacterium utilizes enantiomers sequentially.

An alpha-proteobacterium converts linear alkylbenzenesulfonate surfactants into sulfophenylcarboxylates and linear alkyldiphenyletherdisulfonate surfactants into sulfodiphenylethercarboxylates

Article Abstract:

Research has been conducted on the surfacant linear alkylbenzenesulfonate or linear monoalkyldiphenyletherdisulfonate in salts medium. Results indicate that these surfacants have degraded in laboratory trickling filters.

Parvibaculum lavamentivorans DS-[1.super.T] degrades centrally substituted congeners of commercial linear alkylbenzenesulfonate to sulfophenyl carboxylates and sulfophenyl dicarboxylates

Article Abstract:

The degradation of centrally substituted congeners of commercial linear alkylbenzenesulfonate (LAS) by DS-[1.sup.T] strain of Parvibaculum lavamentivorans was examined. LAS yielded both sulfophenyl carboxylates and sulfophenyl dicarboxylates and some minor products and other array of compounds.
