Alternative trans-splicing of constant and variable exons of a Drosophila axon guidance gene, lola

Article Abstract:

Research has been conducted on Drosophila gene longitudinals lacking (lola) which encodes protein isoforms. The authors have demonstrated that lola mRNAs are produced by alternative exons' trans-splicing which are sequentially encoded by the same DNA strand.

Regulated CPEB phosphorylation during meiotic progression for temporal control of maternal mRNA translation

Article Abstract:

Research has been conducted on mRNA-binding protein CPEB which stimulates translation of maternal mRNA. The authors demonstrate that CPEB undergoes phosphorylation at E16.5 and dephosphorylation at E18.5 when oocytes enter diplotene.
