Article Abstract:
Researchers studied levels of allozyme in five species of the annual plant genus Leavenworthia. The breeding systems of the populations were characterized in terms of measures of autogamous seed-set and self-fertility. The populations with more inbreeding tended to have lower gene diversity values, but considerable allozyme variability was noticed in two of the four sets of inbred populations. By comparing L. stylosa, L. uniflora and L. torulosa, the reduction in diversity associated with inbreeding was high.

Article Abstract:
Inheritance of tristyly in Oxalis tuberosa (Oxalidaceae) is discussed based on an investigation using a system of diallelic crosses between clonal oca accessions representing the three floral morphs. Oca is a botanically isolated vegetatively propagated tuber used by subsistence farmers in the high Andes and the only known octoploid member of the Oxalis tuberosa alliance group of species that make up a polyploid series between 2x and 8x.

Article Abstract:
Restricted gene flow and subpopulation differentiation in the perennial herb Silene dioica are discussed based on investigation of four island populations in an archipelago of northern Sweden. Information about pollen and seed movement in the archipelago are the background for the discussion of the results, which show levels of differentiation among subpopulations within islands to be about twice those found among islands.
