Allophanate hydrolase, not urease, functions in bacterial cyanuric acid metabolism
Article Abstract:
Allophanate, which was shown to be the 2-nitrogen intermediate in cyanuric acid metabolism in all the bacteria was examined. It indicates that allophanate was produced as a metabolic intermediate in the metabolism of cyanuric acid by all of the s-triazine-metabolizing bacteria and there was no evidence for the occurrence of an alternative pathway producing urea.

Arthrobacter aurescens TC1 atrazine catabolism genes trzN, atzB, and atzC are linked on a 160-kilobase region and are functional in Escherichia coli
Article Abstract:
The strain TC1 arthrobacter aurescens combines the atrazine to cyanuric acid through the trzN, atzB, and atzC. The total series of 160-kb bacterial artificial chromosome replica displayed that trzN, atzB, and atzC are joined together on the arthrobacter aurescens genome.

On the origins of cyanuric acid hydrolase: purification, substrates, and prevalence of AtzD from Pseudomonas sp. strain ADP
Article Abstract:
Research has been conducted on Pseudomonas sp. strain ADP cyanuric acid hydrolase. The authors have purified this acid to homogeneity, and have demonstrated that this acid is a substrate.
