Article Abstract:
Experiments carried out by intercrossing three self-pollinating strains of Periwinkle to determine the relationship between genes governing self-pollination in these strains is described. Results revealed that self-pollination in the studied strains was controlled by duplicate, recessive genes and suggested that these alleles at two loci determine the occurrence or nonoccurrence of intraflower self-pollination in Periwinkle.

Article Abstract:
The objective of this study is to measure the inheritance of resistance to zucchini yellow Mosaic virus (ZYMV) and watermelon mosaic virus (WMV) in watermelon PI595203. When plants were inoculated with a mixture of the two viruses, the frequency of plants resistant to ZYMV was lower than expected, indicating that WMNV infection may reduce the ability of a plant to resist ZYMV.
