Article Abstract:
The article presents a complete and detailed analysis of the genes, proteins and small molecules present in mammals, which are commonly found to control the induction and maintenance of hibernation in them. The study of the sequenced genomes for a bat, a hedgehog and a ground squirrel with a complete study of their metabolism and the maintenance of their organ functions, gives complete mechanistic aspects of the biological adaptations of such animals.

Article Abstract:
The left-right symmetry in mammals is broken by a mechanically driven leftward flow of liquid at the embryonic node (nodal flow). A series of elegant embryo culture experiments have clearly demonstrated that an artificial nodal flow can direct the nodal signaling cascade to either the left-side or right side of the embryo.

Article Abstract:
Fugu rubripes is the pufferfish with compact genome and maximal phylogenetic distance from mammals that serves as a vertebrate model for comparative genomics. It is used as a model fish genome of choice for discovering evolutionarily conserved regulatory elements in the human genome.
