Article Abstract:
A study was conducted on the adhesion and physico-chemical cell surface properties of 23 coagulase-negative staphylococcal strains. The findings indicate that Staphylococcus epidermis strains can be divided into at least four phenotypically different groups based on their physico-chemical cell surface properties. Moreover, physico-chemical cell surface properties are important in staphylococcal adhesion in an artificial adhesion set-up.

Article Abstract:
The low-load compression testing (LLCT) is described as a new method for measuring biofilm thickness. The findings have shown that the confocal laser scanning microscopy (CLSM) has underestimated the biofilm thickness due to poor penetration of different fluorescent dyes, whereas LLCT has not suffered from the thickness limitations.

Article Abstract:
Strains isolated from medical or marine niche, use different mechanisms for bacterial adhesion to substrata. Adhesion of marine strains are found to be substratum elastic positive compared to the medical strains.
