Accounting for specificity in receptor tyrosine kinase signaling

Article Abstract:

The author reviews the publications on the signal transduction mechanisms which transmit information from the extracellular space or intracellular compartment to the nucleus affecting gene expression. The topics of interest include the cell response to signaling and the activation of the single type of the receptor tyrosine kinase leading to the intracellular signal transduction pathway activation.

The mouse Mps1p-like kinase regulates centrosome duplication

Article Abstract:

Research has been conducted on the yeast Mps1p protein kinase which acts in centrosome duplication and the spindle assembly checkpoint. Results indicate that the mouse Mps1p ortholog regulates the centrosome duplication.

Modulation of Rho GTPase signaling regulates a switch between adipogenessis and myogenesis

Article Abstract:

Research has been conducted on adipocytes and myocytes derived from mesenchymal precursor. The authors report that Rho GTPase is a modylator of IGF-1 signals which affect adipogenessis and myogenesis cell fate decision.
