Purification and partial characterization of a murein hydrolase, millericin B, produced by Streptococcus milleri NMSCC 061
Article Abstract:
Millericin B is a bacterial cell wall hydrolase produced by Streptococcus milleri that is active against many gram-positive bacteria. It is an endopeptidase that cleaves the peptide group of susceptible peptidoglycans at the N terminus of glutamic acid and the N terminus of the last residue in the interpeptide link.

Absence of a putative mannose-specific phosphotransferase system enzyme IIAB component in a leucocin A-resistant strain of Listeria monocytogenes, as shown by two-dimensional sodium dodecyl sulfate-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis
Article Abstract:
Research has been conducted on Listeria monocytogenes. The isolation of the L. monocytogenes mutant have demonstrated that it is resistant to leucocin A.

Self-protection against cell wall hydrolysis in Streptococcus milleri NMSCC 061 and analysis of the millericin B operon
Article Abstract:
Research has been conducted on the Streptococcus milleri NMSCC 061 which produces an endopeptidase millericin B. The investigation of the similarity between the genes for millericin B and millericin B host immunity in S. milleri NMSCC 061 and the genes for the lysostaphin and lysostaphin host immunity in Streptococcus simulans bv. staphylolyticus is described.
