Article Abstract:
An exponential culture of Escherichia coli K12 cells were exposed in hydrogen peroxide to characterize the mechanisms that mediate the deletrious effects of reactive oxygen radicals in bacterial cells. Northern blot analysis of Escherichia coli cells that were exposed to hydrogen peroxide indicated the presence of a 109 nt RNA that was characterized as oxyS. The expression of the Escherichia coli gene was induced by oxidative stress and protected the cells from oxidative damage.

Article Abstract:
Several spatial and temporal patterns characterized the development of complex eukaryotes. These patterns can be compared with the transition between a bacteriophage's lysogenic and lytic states. Moreover, the synergy associated with complex eukaryotes are manifested by a gene's nonlinear or sigmoidal response to activator concentration increases, and by the transcriptional effect of multiple activator-binding sites on a promote or enhancer.

Article Abstract:
Heat shock proteins can act as thermosensors by observing the way they accumulate or direct RNA polymerase. The gene rpoH mRNA is one of the most useful, sensitive means to examine changes in temperature at the genetic level. Other RNA thermometers, including IcrF mRNA, Salmonella typhimurium TlpA and Drosophila HSF, are also sensitive to temperature.
