Article Abstract:
The Rhodococcus strain NI86/21 contains a cytochrome P-450 which is responsible for the biodegradation of S-ethyl dipropythiocarbamate (EPTC) and atrazine. The products of the atrazine breakdown are N-dealkylated compounds which are not broken down further. The s-triazine ring of atrazine is not broken and NI86/21 cannot use atrazine as its nitrogen source. The breakdown of atrazine is not affected by the presence of any other carbon source, glucose or glycerol.

Article Abstract:
Research describes cloning, expression, and sequencing of manB gene encoding beta-D-mannosidase and its characterization from Themobifida fusca TM51. The enzyme also exhibits transglycosylase activity besides hemicellulose degrading capability of beta-D-mannosidase.

Article Abstract:
Researchers have isolated a beta-1,3-glucanase from Coniothyrium minitans. This organism is a mycoparasite that infects Sclerotinia spp., which cause several crop plant diseases. Beta-1,3-glucan is a major component of the cell wall of Sclerotinia spp.
