A simple method for analyzing microsatellite allele image patterns generated from DNA pools and its application to allelic association studies

Article Abstract:

A method of rapid initial screening for allelic association has been developed. DNA pooling is used for patient and control groups; allele image patterns (AIPs) are produced and overlaid to determine differences between the two groups. A deltaAIP statistic is then calculated, showing the difference in areas between the two AIPs as a fraction of the total shared and nonshared area. The deltaAIP has been found to be highly correlated with chi-squared values.

FAM83H mutations in families with autosomal-dominant hypocalcified amelogenesis imperfecta

Article Abstract:

Several nonsense mutations observed in the FAM83H gene are identified and studied in two families with autosomal-dominant hypocalcified amelogenesis imperfecta (AI). The analysis proves that the FAM83H gene is extremely significant for the proper calcification of the dental-enamel.

Allele-specific targeting of microRNAs to HLA-G and risk of asthama

Article Abstract:

A report on SNP in the 3' untranslated region of HLA-G that influences the targeting of three microRNAs to this gene was presented. The allele-specific targeting of these miRNAs accounts a little part of our earlier observation on HLA-G and its risk of asthama.
