A short primer on RNAi: RNA-directed RNA polymerase acts as a key catalyst

Article Abstract:

Research has been conducted on the gene silenced by the RNA interference. The review of the articles on the biochemical and genetic evidence demonstrating that the RNA-directed RNA polymerase chain reaction amplifies interference caused by the trigger dsRNA is presented.

Mutations in the RNA component of RNase MRP cause a pleiotropic human disease, cartilage-hair hypoplasia

Article Abstract:

Research has been conducted on the cartilage-hair hypoplasia, an inherited developmental disorder with the predesposition to cancer. The results of the several mutations carried in the untranslated RMRP gene which cosegragate with this disorder are described.
