A series of mutations in the D-MEF2 transcription factor reveal multiple functions in larval and adult myogenesis in Drosophila

Article Abstract:

The D-mef2 has a number of functions in myogenesis and tissue morphogenesis during Drosophila growth. The D-mef2 gene encoding a MADs domain transcription factor in the somatic muscle lineage is essential for the generation and designing of the body cell wall muscle. The regulation of the inflated locus encoding the alpha(sub PS2) integrin subunit is done by D-mef2.
