A role for the catalytic ribonnucleoprotein RNase P in RNA polymerase III transcription

Article Abstract:

Whole HeLa extracts depleted of ribonuclease P(RNase P), a tRNA-processing ribonnucleoprotein, exhibiting a severe deficiency in RNA polymerase (Pol) III transcription of tRNA and other small, noncoding RNA genes is shown. A role of RNase P in Pol III transcription is demonstrated and it suggests that transcription and early processing of tRNA may be coordinated.

RNA-guided RNA modification: Functional organization of the archaeal H/ACA RNP

Article Abstract:

A study has reconstituted functional archaeal H/ACA RNPs from recombinant components, defined the components necessary and sufficient for function, and determined the direct RNA-protein and protein-protein interactions that occur between the components. An insight on the functional organization of this RNPs is provided from the results obtained from the study.

Vax genes ventralize the embryonic eye

Article Abstract:

The ventrally expressed homeodomain proteins, Vax 1 and Vax 2 are found to control the neuroepithelial segregation into retina and optic nerve. The absence of these proteins shows that the optic nerve is entirely transformed into fully differentiated retina.
