A nucleotide substitution responsible for the tawny coat color mutation carried by the MSKR inbred strain of mice

Article Abstract:

'Tawny', an autosomal recessive coat color mutation is found in a wild population of Mus Musculus Molossinus and carried by the MSKR inbred strain of mice. A research is conducted on nucleotide substitutions of the Mc1r gene in the tawny mutant (MSKR strain) and 24 other inbred strains of mice, along with mice from wild populations of M. m. molossinus, using nucleotide sequencing or the restriction fragment length polymorphism technique.

Modern African ape populations as genetic and demographic models of the last common ancestor of humans, chimpanzees, and gorillas

Article Abstract:

Estimates of nucleotide diversity and effective population size of modern African ape species is provided. These estimates are useful to make predictions about the nature of the ancestral population, which give rise to the living species of African apes, including humans.

Mitochondrial 16s rRNA sequence diversity of hominoids

Article Abstract:

The nucleotide sequences of the 16S rRNA gene of mitochondrial DNA for all the ape species were determined. On comparing this data with published sequences, all the ape species showed higher diversity than human.
