WISP-1 is a Wnt-1- and beta-catenin-responsive oncogene

Article Abstract:

Wnt-1-induced secreted protein 1(WISP-1) is a Wnt-1- and beta-catenin-responsive oncogene and can be a factor in tumorigenesis. The promoter of WISP-1 has been cloned and been shown to be activated by WNT-1 and beta-catenin expression. The CREB site had a major role in the transcriptional activation.

A novel Smad nuclear interacting protein, SHIP1, suppresses p300-dependent TGF-beta

Article Abstract:

SHIP1 is a novel Smad nuclear interacting protein and suppresses p300-dependent TGF-beta. An effort has been made to find novel interactors of Smads by use of a yeast two-hybrid system with the hope that it would add to understanding of the mechanism of Smad function. SNIP1sets a threshold for TGF-beta-induced transcriptional activation involving CBP/p300 and this has important physiological consequences.

Wrch-1, a novel member of the Rho gene family that is regulated by Wnt-1

Article Abstract:

Wrch-1 (Wnt-1 responsive Cdc42 homolog) from the Rho gene family is discussed. A CDNA subtraction analysis was performed using a Wnt-1-expressing mouse mammary epithelial cell line and the parental cell line in an effort to identify some of the genes directly or indirectly regulated by Wnt-1 signaling and relevant to transformation and tumor formation.
