Article Abstract:
A description of the genetic characteristics of the novel ompA allele, which is identified during an investigation to find differences in the outer membrane proteins of Escherichia coli from different animal sources, its frequency in isolates from a range of vertebrate hosts, and an evolutionary advantage of organisms possessing the novel allele is presented. A naturally occurring ompA allele that is associated with increased resistance to bacteriophage over typical E.coli OmpA expression is identified.

Article Abstract:
A study on the occurrence of Cryptosporidium oocytes in feces from a population of wild eastern grey kangaroos inhabiting a protected watershed in Sydney, Australia was investigated. The study revealed that the kangaroos are the predominant large mammal inhabiting Australian watersheds and are potentially a significant source of Cryptosporidium contamination of drinking water reservoirs.

Article Abstract:
The effect of Escherichia coli morphogene bolA on biofilm formation is examined through a study. It was found that the over expression of bolA induces biofilm development, while bolA deletion decreases biofilms.
