A molecular phylogeny of the dove genus Zenaida: mitochondrial and nuclear DNA sequences

Article Abstract:

Research developing a phylogeny of seven species of the Zenaida dove is presented. Particular attention is given to the use of the method of mitochondrial analysis and to research into their DNA sequences. Genetic differences between species are established.

Marine bird attraction to thermal fronts in the California Current system

Article Abstract:

Research concerning the importance of the California Current system to marine bird populations is presented. The correlation between population and warm fronts suggests that marine birds are able to detect areas of upwelling.

Research concerning a study of population size and range of the Zenaida Dove in three adjoining dairy farms in Puerto Rico from 1984 to 1997 is presented. The study employed capture and recapture methods.
