A locus controlling nodulation specificity in Amphicarpaea bracteata (Leguminosae)

Article Abstract:

Two isolates of the root-nodule bacteria Bradyrhizobium sp. were inoculated on three lineages and the lineage crosses of the legume Amphicarpea bracteata to determine the symbiotic variability among the three strains of A. bracteata. Results revealed that a single genetic locus control the formation of nodule between the narrow host-range Bradyrhizobium and the A. bracteata lineage able to sustain this bacteria.

Genetic differentiation and structure of Hippocrepis valentina (leguminosae) populations

Article Abstract:

The population structure and gene flow patterns of Hippocrepis valentina were examined, detecting rare alleles as indicators of differentiated populations. H. valentina was also compared with H. balearica complex, H. balearica and H. grossi to establish the taxonomic status. Substantial variation among populations was found.

Characterization of seven (CTT)n microsatellite loci in the Pyrenean endemic Borderea pyrenaica (dioscoreaceae). remarks on ploidy level and hybrid origin assessed through allozymes and microsatellite analyses

Article Abstract:

The characterization and identification of microsatellite loci in pyrenean endemic Borderea pyrenaica Miegeville (Dioscoreaceae) is presented. Results indicate a hybrid allopolyploid origin for Borderea taxa.
