A constitutively expressed, truncated umuDC operon regulates the recA-dependent DNA damage induction of a gene in Acinetobacter baylyi strain ADP1

Article Abstract:

SOS genes are up-regulated due to RecA-mediated relief of LexA repression in response to environmentally caused DNA damage and in model soil bacterium Acinetobacter baylyi strain ADP1, the content, regulation and function of the umuDC is unusual. The results reveal that the response of the ADP1 umuDc operon to DNA damage is unusual.

Integrated recombinant protein expression and purification platform based on Ralstonia eutropha

Article Abstract:

A protein purification scheme wherein Ralstonia eutropha is used to produce its own 'affinity matrix', thereby eliminating the need for external chromatographic purification steps is described. Pure, active beta-galactosidase is obtained in a single step using this described method.

Rapid detection of subtype-selective nuclear hormone receptor binding with bacterial genetic selection

Article Abstract:

A simple biosensor is developed that allows subtype-specific nuclear hormone receptor binding to be reflected by the growth phenotype of Escherichia coli cells. This system would enable the facile detection or evolution of subtype-selective hormone analogues.
