Proposed designation of National Credit Education Week; resolution before Congress

Article Abstract:

The International Credit Association (ICA) is pursuing all efforts to convince the US Congress to declare April 19-26, 1992 as National Credit Education Week (NCEW). Along with the Credit Professionals International and the National Foundation for Consumer Credit, the ICA is set to launch the NCEW through high school and community-based programs and through media campaigns aimed at increasing the credit awareness of consumers. The NCEW serves as a response to two studies in 1991 that show American adult consumers and senior high school students as displaying unsatisfactory levels of competency regarding consumer credit issues.
