Environmental accounting and reporting are major initiatives that will provide information to governments to help them to formulate an environmental policy and development environmental programs. Accountants can help corporations to understand how their decision-making processes can affect environmental issues and make them more eco-efficient.

Australian certified public accountant, Graeme Galbraith, who runs GF Galbraith & Associates, has been involved in financial planning since it was first discussed officially by CPA Australia in the 1960s. Galbraith is now training his CPA son and daughter to participate in that side of his family business.
