Article Abstract:

The reporting requirements imposed on employers under superannuation choice reforms are discussed. The reforms have increased the burden on employers, which measure can turn out to be detrimental for all parties eventually. The need for outsourcing some of the related works is discussed and the functions that the clearing houses perform are explained.

If the advice is commission based the client writes only one cheque and the financial planner gets the commission from the fund manager. The issue of separating advice from product recommendations plays an important role in promoting fee-based advice.
