Offshore university programs - accreditation in S-E Asia

Article Abstract:

The need for trained accountants in Southeast Asia has made business and commerce courses offered by Australian universities popular and Australian higher education has been exported to that area. Singapore, Malaysia, and Hong Kong have been among those which use Australian courses in their countries. The reliability of assessment, the quality of instruction, and course equivalence are among the standards which the Southeast Asian countries need to meet to have their courses accredited.

PS education in NZ: expertise needed

Article Abstract:

New Zealand university courses in accounting do not provide students with enough coursework in public sector accounting, according to the academic literature. These courses in the universities of New Zealand are electives rather than requirements for students. Many schools do not have the finances to promote electives and many students do not understand the benefits of these courses.

Article Abstract:

CPA Australia has introduced a program by which mentors and mentorees are able to form a learning relationship and the mentoree is able to learn from the mentor's experiences and obtain CPA status within three years. An example is presented of CPA mentor Jane Macneil and mentoree Doris Camellieri.
