The Certified Public Accountants who look after the accounting needs of the various industries neglect their own financial planning. Since there is a need to plan for the future for every individual the CPA's are also advised to make their plans for future. Using personal finance software packages, magazines or self-help books or help from professional financial planner is suggested.

Accountants who volunteer their services to nonprofit organizations (NFP) may find some challenges. NFPs often have inadequate internal control systems, and they often do not have the discipline to develop formal budgets or gather financial information. Staff may also not have the knowledge about developing accounting systems appropriate for the NFP.
