Since there is a need to plan for the future for every individual the CPA's are also advised to make their plans for future. Using personal finance software packages, magazines or self-help books or help from professional financial planner is suggested.

Working in NFPs: community service or can of worms?

Article Abstract:

Accountants who volunteer their services to nonprofit organizations (NFP) may find some challenges. NFPs often have inadequate internal control systems, and they often do not have the discipline to develop formal budgets or gather financial information. Staff may also not have the knowledge about developing accounting systems appropriate for the NFP.

An Australian chartered public accountant (CPA) feels that CPAs are essentially financial planners in that they give their clients independent financial advice. In order to help their clients achieve their financial objectives, CPAs must develop a model for delivering the kind of financial planning services that are more and more in demand.
