Senior executives in the current employment market tend to be remunerated and rewarded increasingly with bonuses and share options, with their basic salary becoming less important as they climb the executive ladder. It is important, however, that these executives continue to be aware of their market value so as not to miss out on basic salary increases.

Corporate high flyers are enjoying increasingly extravagant bonuses and share option packages that frequently allow them to live an equally extravagant lifestyle. Getting to that level, however, is becoming increasingly difficult, and executives need to have drive, balance, qualifications and luck to get the top positions.
