Email surveillance under scrutiny

Article Abstract:

The extension of the Workplace Video Surveillance Act 1998 to other classes of surveillance in workplace is in plan. The bill proposes that any email surveillance should be carried out ethically and sensibly with a warning, informing the employee about his surveillance.

Evading the email interlopers

Article Abstract:

Email can be made more secure by using an encryptation program called pretty good privacy (PGP). However, no law firm in Australia uses any form of encryptation tools for email security, acknowledges Peter Moon, an IT counsel for a law firm.

In order to control the growth of unsolicited emails the Australian government passes the Spam Act 2003. The provisions of the Act regulating the rules regarding sending email messages are interpreted.
