Peter Day, AMCOR's executive general manager introduced a new international financial reporting standards in Australia to meet the challenge of ensuring that it has more than 200 plants in around 40 countries. This system was tested recently and a full consideration of the results for the group was successful.

The Financial reporting council (FRC) announced that all Australian reporting entities would be required to comply with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) with effect from January 2005.Harmonization and convergence of accounting standards are approaching reality because of this.
