Seven sport-utility vehicles, ranging in price from $26,468 to $38,862, are compared: Acura SLX, Fort Explorer XLT, Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited, Land Rover Discovery SD, Nissan Pathfinder, Oldsmobile Bravada and the Toyota 4Runner Sr5. The Toyota 4Runner ranked 1st. The Nissan Pathfinder ranked 2nd.

Long-term Land Rover Discovery

Article Abstract:

A 40,000 mile road test was conducted on the Land Rover Discovery, a less expensive version of the Range Rover. Results of the test reveal that the Discovery required many costly repairs, yet provided a comfortable ride. Price for the Discovery was $38,730.

Acura SLX

Article Abstract:

The 1996 Acura SLX is a more luxurious version of the Isuzu Trooper, and its price ranges will be between $34,352 and $38,862. The SLX is only available with four-speed automatic transmission and two shift modes: power and winter.
