Leopold E. Schmid, a German engineer feels that engineered wheels can help a vehicle to set a record of 800 km/hr, as wheels were considered as the limiting factor. The wheel innovated by Leopold Schmid had a solid T-shape tread sandwiched between annular discs and a VW bolt pattern.
