1960 A.J. Watson Indy roadster

Article Abstract:

The 1960 Indy roadster that won the 1963 Indianapolis 500 was driven by Parnelli Jones and built by A.J. Watson. The racing car was powered by a dohc 4-cylinder 16-valve Lotus-Ford engine. Its other features are described.

Ford fights back in the Indy-car war ... but Chevrolet/Ilmor is not standing still

Ford Motor Co, after a 10-year hiatus, will supply engines to two automobile racing teams. The newly-developed engine is a Ford-Cosworth XB V-8. Meanwhile, the successful Chevrolet-Ilmor V-8 engine is being improved.
