The new 2006 Mercedes-Benz S-class has wider and longer look than the current model and seems to be influenced by Maybach and BMW's 7 series. The new model features a iDrive-a control knob for controlling, 6.3 liter V-8 AMG version engine with 500horse power, and some new safety systems like external airbags, automatic cruised control sensors and a lane departure warning function.

Mercedes-Benz has introduced its new S-class that is slightly more spacious than the previous S-class version, owing to a wheelbase 3.1inches longer and over a half-inch wider. The new car, priced at $86,000-$128,000, features a top speed of 130 mph, wheelbase of 124.6 inch, 5- or 7-speed automatic transmissions and DOHC 32-valve 5.5-litre V-8 engine.
