Derek Hill, 29-year old son of 1961 Formula 1 World Champion Phil Hill would make his Indy Racing League rookie test, the natural first step toward meeting his goal of securing a top-level ride in the IRL. But, like all other rookies at Indy, Derek would still have to pass the Speedway's own Rookie test.
