Johnson developed his driving skills as a moonshine runner in North Carolina, and he went on to win 50 races as a stock car driver. He and his crew have built cars that have won 130 competitions of the National Association for Stock Car Automobile racing.

Michael Kranefuss is director of Ford Special Vehicle Operations, and he made Ford Motor Co the most successful maker of racing cars in 1992. Kranefuss first became a racing manager for Ford Motor Co in 1972, and began to work in the US during the 1980's.
