The 1996 Longest Day of Nelson Ledges is the setting for a report on Car & Driver's durability assessment of the Nissan 200SX. The 24-hour race, which is open to Stock and Improved Touring cars, proved that the 200SX is plenty durable, as evidenced by its second-place finish.

A Ford SVT Mustang Cobra provided the most familiar and comfortable ride of three cars that participated in the Watkins Glen Winston cup race. The other two cars were the 1970 Bud Moore Boss 302 Trans-Am Ford Mustang and the All Sport Body Quencher Ford Mustang Cobra.
