On-board diagnostics (OBD) represented by OBD-2 hardware on all new US-market automobiles built since 1996 are one of the most intriguing facets of automotive technology. OBD has, however, also rendered complex everything related to autos: design, engineering, manufacture, use and regulation.

A comparison of the designs of the 1947 MG TC and 1997 BMW Z3 automobiles indicates how automotive technology significantly changed in a span of 50 years. The cars' engineering from their general layouts to their tires are comparatively described.

A Cooper Formula 3 race car was one of the participating cars in the 43rd Mt. Equinox Hillclimb, a favorite venue of the Vintage Sports Car Club of America, near Manchester, VT. The race car successfully completed the 5.2-mile climb.
