Racing driver Denny Hulme was invited to drive a restoration of a McLaren M8F Can-Am car in the 1992 Chicago Historic Races at the Road America track in Elkhart Lake, WI. Meeting Hulme, the work on the car, the testing of the car and the race itself are described.

The 30th anniversary of the Canadian-American Challenge Cup was celebrated through a special race at the Chicago Historic Races. Bill Auberlen won the race with Bob Lee's orange McLaren M20.
