A proud owner of a Mini Cooper S car shares the story of how the automobile was invented. He remembers that the Mini Cooper S was introduced in the 1950s by British Motor Corp. It was designed by engineer Alec Issigonis to be small and efficient because of the fuel shortage that was happening then.

The Lotus position: back on course after the storm

Article Abstract:

Lotus Engineering's new owner, DRB Hicom, has invested $23 million on new facilities to spearhead new developments in 1998. Lotus Engineering now has the largest independent testing facility in Europe and participates in the racing circuit though product development is currently its top priority.

Jaguars for the future: from next year to the next century

Article Abstract:

Jaguar will introduce the luxurious X350 and compact X200 sedans in 1998/99, with a new production line for the 200 that will more than double Jaguar;s highest output. Less certain are a small car, the X400, and a two-seat roadster, the X120, envisioned for around 2003.
