Mazda is repositioning the airconditioning units in early production models of its Millenia S automobile after it was reported that a smokelike odor was emanating from the units. However, Millenia owners have a difficult time getting a replacement for their cars' compact disc players.

About 53% of Road and Track readers responding to a survey favored a swoopy, short-hood/long-rear design for the new Nissan Z-car. The remaining 47% favored more traditional styling with a long hood and short rear deck. Most were dismayed that the Z-car may be discontinued.
